Why does Disengage need Screen Time permission?
Disengage uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls) to block apps on your behalf. Without this permission, the app cannot restrict access to distracting apps. You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings.
Can I still use blocked apps in an emergency?
If you have a Deep Focus session running, you can stop it from the app (unless strict mode is enabled). For plan-based blocking, you can disable the plan at any time from the Home screen.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription anytime through your iPhone's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Disengage. Your premium features will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
Is my data private?
Yes. All your blocking plans, focus sessions, and settings are stored locally on your device. We don't have user accounts, and we don't collect any personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
What's the difference between free and premium?
Free users get 3 Deep Focus sessions per day (15 or 25 minutes). Premium unlocks unlimited sessions, all durations (up to 90 minutes), custom blocking plans, automatic schedules, detailed statistics, and widgets.
Why aren't apps being blocked?
Make sure Screen Time permission is granted (check Settings > Screen Time). Also ensure you've selected apps in your blocking plan and that the plan is enabled. If the issue persists, try toggling Screen Time access off and on again.
How do I add a widget?
Long-press on your Home Screen > tap the + button > search for "Disengage" > choose a widget size and add it. Lock Screen widgets can be added by long-pressing the Lock Screen and tapping Customize.
